Phosphide powder usually refers to a binary compound composed of metal or nonmetal and phosphorus. Metal phosphides, such as calcium phosphide, zinc phosphide, aluminum phosphide, copper phosphide, etc.
Non-metal phosphide does not interact with water and acid at room temperature. Most metal phosphides can be formed by the direct combination of metals and phosphorus.
Ionic phosphides include alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, and phosphides of zinc, aluminum, etc.
Metal-type phosphides include phosphides of most heavy metals. They are similar to intermetallic compounds in composition and appearance, and most of them are not easily decomposed by water or acid.
Application of phosphide powder
Ferrophosphorus (containing 23-29% phosphorus) is used to prepare high-strength steel. Containing 0.1-0.3% (alloyed) phosphorus can greatly improve the strength and corrosion resistance of steel. Ferrophosphorus is a by-product of elemental phosphorous produced by the electric furnace method. General commercial ferrophosphorus also contains a small amount of silicon, chromium, alum and other impurities.
Magnesium phosphide releases half its mass of phosphine in moist air.
Aluminum phosphide also releases highly toxic phosphine in humid air, and is therefore used as a grain fumigant.
Copper phosphide is used as a deoxidizer.
Gallium phosphide is used as a semiconductor.

What’s iron Boride? iron boride is a gray orthogonal, diamond-shaped crystal. It can also dissolve in water. You can use it as a chemical agent, or as a catalyst for hydrogenation. Two main types of iron Boride exist. One form has high magnetic and electrical conductivity as well as corrosion resistance. While the other is […]

What’s silicon nitride How do you make it? The si3N4 formula for silicon-nitride is the best. Two types of silicon dioxide are available: A and B. Si3N4 crystal forms are granular, while p is an inorganic form. Both of these forms belong to the hexagonal structure. Its relative density (SiN), is 3.18. The Morse hardness […]

What is Superconductivity? If your hands get cold during winter, you can rub your hands together to warm them. It is because friction heats up. Because electrical appliances heat up, the wires and currents can also become hot. The reason is that the electrical appliances have “friction” which acts as resistance. Resistance heat is a […]

Alumina properties High resistance to heat: alumina may be used in an oxidation-reduction atmosphere up to 1650degC (2900degF), or in vacuum environments as high as 2000degC (3600degF). Wear resistance: Alumina is an extremely durable ceramic that has outstanding wear resistance. Alumina is a great choice for products or inserts that require wear resistance. Electrical insulators: […]
