Molybdenum carbide is a type of transitional metal carbide.

Molybdenum Carbide also known as Molybdenum Carbide. This is a gray hexagonal crystal. It is hard and has a high melting temperature. Molybdenum Carbide – What Are Their Applications?


As shown in the global consumption pattern, Molybdenum acts as an iron ally. In the vast majority of Western industrialized states, molybdenum is consumed in high amounts. Steel can take 30 percent molybdenum. Stainless steel absorbs 30 percent. Low alloy steel takes 30 percent. Ten percent of the steel is used for drilling, cutting, and casting. Molybdenum chemical refining as well as petroleum refinery, and lubricants account for 20 percent. The United States steel industry used 75% of its production in 1998.

It is crucial that molybdenum be included in stainless steel. Molybdenum helps increase corrosion resistance, high strength, and weldability.
