Cetearyl Glucoside (and) Cetearyl Alcohol is an O/W type Emulsifier, with strong emulsifying capabilities. Because it forms a liquid structure as an emulsifier it can be used to make liquid crystals. This is why it can also be used to make liquid crystal emulsifiers without taking into account the oil’s molecular weight or polarity. An emulsifier is not required if the amount of cetyl glucoside used in a solution does not exceed 1%. Cetylglucoside, which does not contain ethylene dioxide, is biodegradable and can be used for skin affinity.
It can be used to emulsify different types of fats using the 16-carbon chain. The formula is straightforward and compatible with emulsifiers of high HLB values. Useful in baby products, skin care products, sunscreens and eye creams.
