What is Tungstentrioxide?
Tungsten Trioxide is a yellow-colored triclinic powder. Tungsten trioxide turns to orange tetragonal if it is exposed to temperatures above 740C. These crystals then return back to the original condition after cooling. It is stable when heated to room temperature, having a melting point at 1473°C, a boiling points higher than 1750°C, and an relative density of 7.16.
The most stable type of tungsten oxide is Tungsten Trioxide. It’s insoluble in water, and other inorganic acids, except hydrofluoric acid. You can dissolve it in hot concentrated sodium hydroxyide solution or ammonia to make soluble tungstate. When the temperature exceeds 650 degrees, it can be reduced with H2 and reduced further by C. To obtain tungsten-powder at 1000-1100 degrees Celsius
